Betta splendens

Check Betta

The Betta, also known as the Siamese Fighting Fish, is celebrated for its spectacular flowing fins and bold personality. Males are territorial toward other males but can coexist with peaceful tankmates in a well-planted aquarium. Bettas breathe atmospheric air through a labyrinth organ, so they appreciate calm surface water and access to the top of the tank.

Seachem Prime Water Conditioner

The essential dechlorinator for Betta water changes. In addition to removing chlorine and chloramine, Prime temporarily detoxifies ammonia and nitrite — critical in the small tanks Bettas are often kept in where ammonia spikes happen fast.

Filters

Aquarium Co-Op Small Sponge Filter

A gentle, low-flow sponge filter — the gold standard for Betta tanks. Powered by an air pump, it creates almost no current while providing excellent biological filtration. The soft sponge doubles as a surface for Bettas to rest against. Far safer than HOB filters whose intake can injure delicate fins.
